You have a RIGHT to be You

It sickens me to hear stories about bullying, and about how helpless it seems schools are to help it. I don't think the problem is with the schools always, sometimes it's our society.

There are certain life styles that I don't agree with, as I'm sure there's plenty of people that don't agree with how I live, what I like or what I believe. But here's the point, regardless of what I do or think, regardless of what anyone else likes to do or who they love, the point is every single person has a right to be who they are. It is not our place to discriminate or degrade anyone who does anything out of norm.

This issue particularly bugs me when I see the "It gets better campaign." While I applaud what it does and tries to do, it's only targeting to help one margin of bullying. What if you were picked on constantly as a child just for being different? For no true reason other than being who you are?

We need an effort to stop all bullying. I hope this poster will remind some people, wether you're an artist, athlete, nerd, geek, emo, prep, rocker, Christian, atheist, LGBQTA....

WHOEVER YOU ARE.
YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BE YOU.

Don't let what other people say about you stop who you are. And don't discriminate against others because of who they are.
